National Printing Industry Day and Honoring Printing and Publishing Professionals at the University of Tabriz

On the occasion of National Printing Industry Day, a ceremony to commemorate and honor professionals in the field of printing and publishing was held at the University of Tabriz.

According to the University’s Public Relations Office, Prof. Asghar Asgari, Vice President for Research and Technology at the University of Tabriz, while congratulating this day and appreciating the efforts of those active in the field of printing and publishing, stated: “The University of Tabriz Press is one of the University’s prides and, as an academic publisher, it is engaged in publishing university textbooks across all disciplines. Many of its publications are considered among the best-selling academic books in the country.”

He added that in recent years, both the quality and affordability of books published by the University Press have improved, while the printing process itself has become faster and more accurate—achievements made possible by the efforts and cooperation of professionals in this field.

Referring to the 70-year-old printing equipment, Dr. Asgari announced that, with the allocated funding and planned support, modern machinery equipped with the latest global technology will soon be procured, significantly enhancing the performance of the University Press.

He further emphasized the launch of an online book sales system by Research Week and stressed that physical book sales should also be organized in a way that facilitates stronger engagement with the community beyond the university, ensuring more effective distribution. The publication of e-books, he noted, is another pressing necessity that the University Press must address
