Research Policies and Strategies

Introduction:
In order to enhance the research environment, facilitate the transformation of the university into a research-oriented institution, and produce beneficial knowledge with respect for justice and human dignity, emphasizing faculty leadership and supporting academic staff and graduate students towards achieving academic leadership in their respective fields, the research policies and strategies of the University of Tabriz are hereby presented. These policies have been developed with the valuable input of esteemed colleagues and members of the Research Council as follows:

Objectives and Responsibilities:

• Selection, development, and retention of research experts within a supportive environment that fully realizes their potential as pillars underpinning the university’s goals
• Focusing research efforts on pioneering fields of science and technology
• Strengthening and enhancing the quality of doctoral research programs through support from the research administration
• Steering research activities towards addressing regional and national needs
• Developing and transferring technical knowledge and commercializing the outcomes of university research
• Renewing and expanding existing research collaborations and fostering new partnerships with advanced domestic and international scientific centers, industrial partners, commercial entities, and major corporations
• Establishing specialized research institutes to deepen research capabilities and strengthen industry linkages
• Creating centralized and distributed specialized laboratories to foster a conducive research environment
• Securing a portion of the university’s financial resources through research activities
• Increasing income generation for university personnel
